Something borrowed, Something blue

There was a bridal shower on the Stamping Bella forum on SCS the other night, and I had fun participating in the card challenges. Below is the card I made for the Something Traditional challenge. You had to use "something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue".

Here are my "somethings":

Old: the "celebrate" stamp from SU's Wonderful Words set
New: the pretty yellow and pink striped paper I bought this week
Borrowed: I cased the layout for the card from this adorable card by llevans
Blue: I used SU's Soft Sky ribbon, paper, and ink on the card

Leave me a comment, telling me what your favorite "something" is (this can be anything - doesn't have to be wedding related) by 8pm EST on July 4th. I will randomly select a winner to mail this card to.

Happy Father's Day!

Father's Day is tomorrow. Have you made your dad a card yet? If not, check out this one for some inspiration:

I received this lovely image from the stamped image pif thread on Splitcoast. The sky and water were done using ink pads and a brayer. You can find instructions here.

Can you keep a secret?

I participated in a secret girlfriend swap on Splitcoast this month. In addition to all the fun stamping goodies I purchased for my secret girlfriend, I made this pretty card just for her.
I just love SU's Embrace Life set! The flower designs are very elegant and so much fun to watercolor. The colors were inspired by my secret girlfriend's favorite colors. I found this pretty designer paper from Making Memories in my paper stash, and thought it went perfectly with the design. I hope she likes it!
My secret girlfriend had a birthday before the swap was due, so I also made her a birthday card. I recently purchased the Cupcake clear set from Hero Arts, and have been having fun with it. The image was watercolored, and then I added stickles to the frosting to make it pop. I then cut it out with my circle Nestabilities dies using my new favorite tool, the Cuttlebug. What do you think?

It's official!

I'm an auntie! Baby Anna was born yesterday, and both mama and baby are doing well. She is the first baby in the family, and everyone is quite excited! I have to clear it with my sister before posting a photo of her, but trust me, she is adorable!
While waiting for her arrival, I had a lot of fun making baby cards. Want to see some? Good!!!

The first two cards were 2 of the many sample cards I gave my sister to choose from for her shower invitations. The onesie was her favorite, so that is what we went for, but I just love the little dress with the flirty vellum overlay. I'll have to save the design for future use...

The next two cards were congratulations cards that I sent after finding out I was going to be an auntie. Both feature stamps from Stamping Bella. I really like the Bella pregnancy stamps - mama looks so radiant and proud!

I'm back!

Sorry for the long wait between posts! My beloved grandmother passed away in March, and I didn't feel like stamping for a while. Since then, life has been very busy! This year will see not one, but two new babies in my family, so I've been busy making baby gifts and cards. Pictures to come...
