Help fund free mamograms

Each year, 182,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer and 43,300 die. One woman in eight either has or will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. In addition, 1,600 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 400 will die this year.
The Breast Cancer Site provides a feel-good way to help promote awareness of breast cancer and provide free mammograms for women in need every day — through easy and quick online activities.
With a simple, daily click of the pink "Click Here to Give - it's FREE" button at The Breast Cancer Site, visitors help to provide free mammograms for women in need. Visitors pay nothing. Mammograms are provided by our charitable partners.

Christmas in August?!?

I know, I know! Christmas cards in August? Really! Couldn't I at least wait until Labor Day like all the stores do? LOL! It was disgustingly hot out yesterday, so I thought working on some holiday cards might help me to cool off. Or at least think cool, which can be a help on days like that!

This first one uses the new level 1 hostess set, Sidekick Sayings, as well as Polka Dots & Paisley for the embossed red dots on the bottom half. The image is colored in with markers, and then all of the white background was dusted with with a touch of color using the Color Spritzer tool.

The next two cards utilize the Three For You punch. I love how versatile this punch is! Who would have thought a flower punch would make such cute holiday cards?

My last two cards use It's Snow Time and Lovely as a Tree. Each card is three layers (sky, trees/mountains, and snowpeople), and the top two layers are popped up on dimensionals to give the scene some depth. Trust me when I say these look much cooler in person.

Crop-a-dile How To

My favorite new tool in the new catalog is the Crop-a-Dile.

It is an eyelet setter and hole puncher in one. Its built-in 1/8" and 3/16" circle punchers punch through chipboard, tin, and multiple paper layers with ease. It also silently and easily sets eyelets of any size. When you get one, don't throw away the cardboard backing, because it gives you all of the information you need on how to set it for different sizes of eyelets.

Check out this great video I found on YouTube explaining how to use it. Enjoy!

Don't forget...

Do you want to make fun projects using new stamps and have a chance to win some stamping goodies? Then don't forget to RSVP for the Open House scheduled on July 21st. I need to hear from you by this Friday (July 6th) to guarantee I have supplies on hand for you to do the projects. You are welcome to bring a friend, just let me know! :)

As a special for my web-site viewers, get an extra ticket for the door prize drawings if you mention reading this on my website when you RSVP. Already RSVP'd and want to take advantage of the special? Drop me a line and I'll make sure to add an extra ticket into the pot for you.

Want another reason to attend the Open House? I have decided to clear out some of my retired stamps sets and other goodies to make way for new rubber. I will have a sale table set up at the Open House for your viewing pleasure. These will be offered on a first come, first served basis, so don't miss out on your last chance to get some great retired items.

Who wants to win a free stamp set? It couldn't be easier! For every $30 (before shipping/tax) you spend, you will get 1 ticket for the drawing. The number of tickets you can get is unlimited - spend $60, get 2 tickets, spend $90, get 3 tickets, etc. Not able to attend the Open House, but still want to get in on the drawing? Not a problem. Just contact me to place a qualifying order by July 21st to get your name in the drawing. The lucky winner will be notified on July 22nd, and will receive her stamp set when the rest of her order arrives.

Retiring Accessories List is Here!

To view the list click here: Retired Accessories List

Now, for some important information about the retirement list:

  • Discontinued accessories are available until June 30, or while supplies last.
  • Quantities are limited to stock on hand, so once they're gone, they're gone!
  • Items can move quickly so don’t wait if there is something you have to have.
  • Rememember that this is your last chance to stock up on 2006-2007 In Color ink, card stock, and ribbon. Consider purchasing extra ink refills to extend the life of your In Color pads after these colors are no longer available.
  • Retiring Stamps and Stampin' Around wheels will be available through June 30.

In addition to discontinued items, there are also a number of items that are being offered in a different quantity or assortment in the upcoming catalog. This year, the following items will be offered differently in the Fall-Winter Collection 2007:

Pick A Petal

This set is so much fun! With so many different petals to choose from, the combinations are endless! Here I used the polka dotted petal to form the daisy (cut the tail off to make the center), and then the triple outline petal to form the leaf. Add a stem with the Old Olive marker and a greeting from the "Hugs & Wishes" set, and you are good to go.

Stamps: Pick A Petal, Hugs & Wishes
Paper: Whisper White, Rose Red
Ink: Rose Red, Soft Sky, Old Olive
Accessories: Ticket Corner punch, Dazzlin Diamonds, Old Olive marker

Baroque Motifs

When I saw this set, I instantly knew that it HAD to be mine! It is just so darn elegant, and I have to admit, I am a sucker for anything with swirls.

I think this card would be perfect for a wedding - either as the invitation, or the card for the lucky bride & groom. I broke down and used some of my stash of Brushed Gold card stock for the layer on this one. It was the perfect accent to the Gold Glory embossing powder used on the main layer.

Stamps: Baroque Motifs
Paper: Whisper White, Brushed Gold
Ink: Versamark
Accessories: Gold Glory EP, ribbon, heat gun, 1/4 circle punch
Technique: Faux Metal

This card is a bit more whimsical than the last. I used the "Three For You" punch to make the little flowers, and sprinkled Dazzlin Diamonds in the centers to make them stand out. There is also Dazzlin Diamonds on the Groovy Guava swirls. This card is very sparkly in real life.

Stamps: Baroque Motifs, Holidays & Wishes
Paper: Whisper White, Blush Blossom, Groovy Guava
Ink: Groovy Guava, Whisper White Craft
Accessories: Dazzlin Diamonds, Three For You punch
